Unitarian Universalists of Coastal Georgia
Seeking a Liberal Religion

Beliefs and Values

Unitarian Universalism is a theologically diverse religion in which members support one another in our search for truth and meaning.  We have historic roots in the Jewish and Christian traditions, but today individual Unitarian Universalists may identify as Atheist, Agnostic, Buddhist, Humanist,  Pagan, or with other philosophical or religious traditions.

We promote reason and tolerance in our communities and embrace a free and responsible search for truth and meaning. As members of a non-creedal religious tradition, we Unitarian Universalists are encouraged to discern our own beliefs about different spiritual topics

Unitarian Universalists of Coastal Georgia have an active Social Justice program. Currently, we are working with a local group called FaithMinistries, which provides many services to the needy in the community.  We also are active in environmental issues in the Georgia coastal area and in the Glynn Peace Program. Past efforts have included helping the children's shelter, Safe Harbor, and the Harmony Square day care program.

Newcomers - Welcome!

We are glad you are here! Please join us for one of our Sunday services. We are located at 1710 Gloucester Street, Brunswick, GA. (See Driving Directions page on how to get there.) Our services begin at 10:30 am the first, second  and third Sundays of each month, September through June. The Rev. Lynne Garner, who became minister in September 2011, generally leads the worship service the first and third Sundays. On the second Sunday, the service is provided by our Social Justice Team.
A membership table in the lobby contains various pamphlets on Unitarian Universalism, and members of our congregation will be happy to discuss our fellowship with you.

If you are interested in learning more about Unitarianism, on the first Sunday of each month, one of our members leads a discussion on Unitarian Universalism at 9:30 am prior to our services. This is called First Sunday Forum. Be sure to visit with us during the social hour after every service! Members of the congregation will be wearing name tags and will be happy to answer your questions about our congregation.
