Volunteer OpportunitiesUnitarian Universalists of Coastal Georgia have an active Social Justice program. The focus for this year will be FaithWorks Ministries, an ecumenical group drawing from many area churches. Opportunities to serve the community through FaithWorks include delivering food and other essential items to some of the community's neediest families, mentoring students, and working in a community gardden. On the first Sunday of each month, congregants are asked to bring items, such as clothing, toiletries, games and household items, to the Sunday service for FaithWorks. In the past few years, the church has provided assistance to Safe Harbor, a shelter for youths, Harmony Square, a new day care provider and soon-to-be adult education center in Brunswick's central city. Teams![]() We have fourteen permanent Teams, as well as several temporary ones. We encourage all of our members and friends to join at least one. Our teams are Building and Grounds, Capital Campaign, Caring, Finance, History, Hospitality, House, Marketing, Membership, Ministry, Music, Program, Religious Education and Social Justice. There are also several Teams which have been working on preparing our new building for use. (In picture at right, the Rev. Bill Phillips leads a group from UUCG in the Martin Luther King parade.) |
![]() The world is a good place, but it could be a whole lot better. Through our Social Justice program and other activities, we endeavor to make our mark -- small though it might be -- on working for a peaceful, free and fair world. |
